Lara Dotson-Renta is a writer and scholar, mother and partner, yogi and teacher. She specializes in Hatha and Vinyasa classes for adults in English and Spanish, as well as children's classes. She will begin offering Trauma-Sensitive yoga classes in October, 2016. Lara's practice encourages interconnectedness, openness, and the creation of physical and emotional space.
Originally from Puerto Rico, she holds a doctorate in Romance Languages and literature, with a particular focus on immigrant communities. For Lara, her scholarly work brought to light the importance of balance, of engaging the body along with the mind. Her interest in different languages and cultures keeps her traveling as often as possible, and aware of how many different ways there are to craft a connection between mind, body, and spirit.
Lara completed her RYT 200Hr training at Breathing Room Yoga in New Haven, as well as a Children's Yoga training through Full of Joy Yoga (New Haven). Lara is CPR certified.
